Multicast tab

To direct MAC multicast flooding to a specific set of ports, you can set one multicast MAC address as the sole multicast receiver. A multicast MAC floods all ports on the VLAN, or you can define a separate flooding domain, which is a subset of the ports on a VLAN.

To access the Multicast tab:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.
  2. The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed.
  3. From the table, select a VLAN.
  4. Click the Bridge button.
  5. The Bridge dialog box opens with the Transparent tab displayed.
  6. Click the Multicast tab.
  7. The Multicast tab opens.

To insert a MAC multicast domain:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.
  2. The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed.
  3. From the table, select a VLAN.
  4. Click the Bridge button.
  5. The Bridge dialog box opens with the Transparent tab displayed.
  6. Click the Multicast tab.
  7. The Multicast tab opens.
  8. In the Multicast tab, click Insert.
  9. The Bridge, VLAN Insert Multicast dialog box opens.
