Configuring a MAC-layer bridge filter

To configure a MAC layer bridge filter:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.
  2. The VLAN dialog box opens to the Basic tab.
  3. In the VLAN dialog box, select a VLAN and click Bridge.
  4. The Bridge, VLAN dialog box opens.
  5. In the Bridge, VLAN dialog box, click the Filter tab.
  6. The Filter tab opens.
  7. From the Filter tab, click Insert.
  8. The Bridge, VLAN Insert Filter dialog box opens.
  9. In the MacAddress field, enter the MAC address used to match the destination address of incoming packets.
  10. In the Port field, click the ellipsis (...)
  11. The BridgeFilterPort dialog box opens.
  12. Click the port where this MAC address is found, and click OK.
  13. The BridgeFilterPort dialog box closes and the port is added to the Port field on the Bridge, VLAN, Insert Filter dialog box.
  14. In the Source Discard field, click the ellipsis (...).
  15. The Bridge Filter Source Discard dialog box opens.
  16. Click the ports from which you do not want packet traffic received by this MAC address, and click OK.
  17. The dialog box closes and the ports are added to the Source Discard field in the Bridge, VLAN, Insert Filter dialog box.
  18. In the Destination Discard field, click the ellipsis (...).
  19. The Bridge Filter Destination Discard dialog box opens.
  20. Click the ports to which you do not want packet traffic sent from this MAC address, and click OK.
  21. The dialog box closes and the ports are added to the Destination Discard field in the Bridge, VLAN, Insert Filter dialog box.
  22. Click Insert.
  23. The Insert Filter dialog box closes and the filter appears in the Filter tab.
  24. In the Bridge VLAN dialog box and the VLAN dialog box, click Close.
  25. The MAC layer bridge filter is configured.
