Configuring explicit paths
To configure an explicit path for a tunnel in an MPLS network, use the following steps:
- From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > MPLS > Config.
| The MPLS dialog box opens with the Globals tab displayed. |
- Click the ExplicitPath tab.
| The ExplicitPath tab opens and displays any previously configured explicit paths. |
- Click Insert.
| The MPLS, Insert ExplicitPath dialog box opens. |
- Enter a unique number as an ID for this explicit path.
- Enter the number for this hop in the explicit path.
- Enter the IP address for this hop in the path.
- Enter the prefix length of the IP address.
- Select the type of route that the path should take: strict or loose.
- Click Insert to add this hop to the explicit path.
- Click Insert to open the Insert ExplicitPath dialog box again.
- Enter the same ID number for the explicit path that you entered in step 4.
- Increment the Index number for each successive hop.
- Repeat steps 6-9 for each hop in this explicit path.
- Click Apply.
