Configuring explicit paths

To configure an explicit path for a tunnel in an MPLS network, use the following steps:

1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > MPLS > Config.

The MPLS dialog box opens with the Globals tab displayed.

2. Click the ExplicitPath tab.

The ExplicitPath tab opens and displays any previously configured explicit paths.

3. Click Insert.

The MPLS, Insert ExplicitPath dialog box opens.

4. Enter a unique number as an ID for this explicit path.
5. Enter the number for this hop in the explicit path.
6. Enter the IP address for this hop in the path.
7. Enter the prefix length of the IP address.
8. Select the type of route that the path should take: strict or loose.
9. Click Insert to add this hop to the explicit path.
10. Click Insert to open the Insert ExplicitPath dialog box again.
11. Enter the same ID number for the explicit path that you entered in step 4.
12. Increment the Index number for each successive hop.
13. Repeat steps 6-9 for each hop in this explicit path.
14. Click Apply.
