Downloading the ASCII config file for the module
Beginning with release 1.1, you can use download the ASCII configuration file to the OM 1200 ESM module and the OM 1450 ESM module. You can download the ASCII configuration file manually or set the device to download the file automatically, or using BootP. Finally, the system shows the progress of the download, and displays when the download is successfully completed.
To download the ASCII config file:
- Copy the new OM 1200 ESM module or OM 1450 ESM module image file to the load server you are using for the OM 1200 ESM module or OM 1450 ESM module.

- In Device Manager, choose Edit > FileSystem.
| The File System dialog box opens. Choose the Ascii Config File tab, as shown in the following example. |

- In the TftpServer Address box, enter the IP address of the server with the ASCII configuration file you want to download.
- In the AsciiConfigFilename box, enter the name of the ASCII configuration file you want to download.
- In the AsciiConfigAutoDownload area, click the radio button for disabled, useBootp, or useConfig--depending on the function you are doing.
| The system displays the word "passed" in the AsciiConfigAutoDnldStatus field when the files has been successfully downloaded. |
- If you want to manually download the ASCII configuration field, click the downloadNow radio button in the AsciiConfigManualDownload area.
| The system displays the radio buttons passed, InProgress, or Failed in the AsciiConfigManualDownload area. |
- Click Apply.
| Device Manager updates the OM 1200 ESM module or OM 1450 ESM module with the new file and resets the module. When the module restarts, the system loads the new image file. |
