Configuring transparent ports

UNI ports that are configured for transparent service type can be used by only a single transparent domain. It is assumed that all of the traffic at that port is destined for the same transparent domain

Note: You can have up 14 transparent service type ports in a single transparent service type transparent domain (TD).

To configure transparent ports:

  1. Configure the IP address for the UNI port.
  2. For information on configuring the IP address, see Assigning an IP address to a UNI port.
  3. Set the service type for the port to transparent.
  4. For information on configuring the IP address, see Configuring UNI port service types.
  5. Add the transparent domain for the port.
  6. For information on adding transparent domains, see Creating transparent domains.
  7. Enable LAN service for the transparent domain.
  8. For information on enabling LAN service, see Enabling or Disabling Transparent LAN service.
  9. Enable the port.
