Configuring direct broadcast on a VLAN

You enable or disable directed broadcast traffic forwarding on an IP-interface basis on the Direct Broadcast tab.

To enable IP-directed broadcast suppression for a VLAN:

1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.

The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed.

2. From the table, select a VLAN.
3. Click IP.

The IP, VLAN dialog box opens with the IP Address tab displayed.

4. Click the Direct Broadcast tab.

The Direct Broadcast tab opens.

5. Do one of the following:
• De-select DirectBroadcastEnable check box to suppress the IP-directed broadcasts.
• Select the DirectBroadcastEnable check box to opt not to suppress the IP-directed broadcasts
  
  

  Note: Multiple VLANs/IRPs in the same subnet but in different switches must be configured simultaneously.
