Enabling rlogin or rsh access

To enable rlogin or rsh access:

  1. In the Boot Monitor CLI, enter these commands:
  2. flags rlogin true
    save
  3. From the Device Manager menu bar, select Edit > Chassis.
  4. The Chassis dialog box opens with the System tab displayed.
  5. Check EnableAccessPolicy.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click Close.
  8. Select Edit > Security > Access Policy .
  9. Click Insert.
  10. .
    The Security, Insert Access Policies dialog box opens.
  11. Insert a new access policy with the following options:
  12. ­ PolicyEnable: true
    ­ Mode: allow
    ­ Service: rlogin
    ­ TrustedHostAddr: a specific IP address
    ­ TrustedHostUserName: the same user name that the user logged on to the network with (not the switch user name, such as rwa)

    Note: You cannot use wildcard entries for the TrustedHostAddr and TrustedHostUserName fields.The user must already be logged in with this user name. For example, using "rlogin -l newusername xx.xx.xx.xx" will not work from a UNIX workstation.

  13. Click Insert.

To enhance the security of your network, the behavior of the rlogin has been modified.
