Creating a port-based VLAN

To create a port-based VLAN:

  1. In the Basic tab, click Insert.
    2. The VLAN, Insert Basic dialog box for creating VLANs opens. This dialog box opens with the Type field set to byPort.
  2. Type the (VLAN) ID.
    3. The value can be from 1 to 4094, as long as it is not already in use (the default VLAN has a VID=1).
  3. Type the VLAN name (optional).
    4. If no name is entered, a default name is created.
  4. In the Type field, click byPort (if not already selected).
  5. Specify the port membership by clicking the PortMembers text box.
  6. Click Insert.
