Access Policy tab

The Access Policy feature allows you to control access to the switch by specifying the hosts or networks that can access the switch through various services. In Device Manager, set access policies through the Access Policy tab.

To insert a new access policy:

  1. On the Device Manager menu bar, choose Edit > Security.
  2. The Security dialog box opens with the Access Policy tab active.
  3. In the Security dialog box, click Insert.
  4. The Security, Insert Access Policy dialog box opens. The items are defined in the Security, Security Insert Access Policy items table. All items are optional except ID.
  5. Click PolicyEnable.
  6. Select the mode to allow or deny a service.
  7. Select a service.
  8. Set a precedence number for the service (lower numbers mean higher precedence).
  9. Enter an IP address in the NetAddr item.
  10. Enter the NetMask used for the NetAddr item.
  11. Enter an IP address for the trusted host.
  12. Enter a user name for the trusted host.
  13. Select the access level for the service.
  14. In the Security, Insert Access Policy dialog box, click Insert.
