Editing and viewing IGMP receiver settings
To edit and view IGMP receiver settings:
- From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.
| The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed. |
- Click the Snoop tab.
- In the Snoop tab, select a VLAN.
- Click Multicast.
| The Snoop, VLAN dialog box opens with the Receiver tab displayed. This dialog box shows the multicast IP addresses of the IGMP receiver groups learned in the selected VLAN. The port members (if any) of each IGMP group are also displayed. |
The table below describes the Receiver tab items.
VlanId
The VLAN ID for the egress VLAN.
IpAddress
Address of the multicast group to which the receiver subscribes.
IfIndex
The logical interface index assigned to the VLAN; this value can be from 2049 to 4095.
Member
Source IP address of the member who joined.
Expiration
Length of time before this member is aged out. This value is derived from the Robust Value, MaxResponse Time value, and Query Interval. The Query Max Response Interval (obtained from the queries received) is used as the timer resolution. Increasing the Robust Value also increases the expiration value.
Type
Static or dynamic:
- Static is membership configured by the user via the Multicast Static window.
- Dynamic is membership that the switch learned from receiving group reports.
An entry can change from static to dynamic if the switch learns of a membership dynamically through a static port. In this case, the entry is not deleted when the expiration value goes to zero; instead, its type goes back to "static."
