Syslog table tab
Use the Syslog table tab to configure syslog hosts and to change the host mappings.
To change syslog host mappings at any time:
- From the Device Manager menu bar, choose Edit > Diagnostics.

- Click the Syslog table tab.

- Click the MapWarningSeverity text box.
- From the list, select a host mapping.
To configure a syslog host:
- From the Device Manager menu bar, choose Edit > Diagnostics.

- Click the Syslog table tab.

- Click Insert.

The table below describes the Diagnostics, Insert Syslog dialog table box items.
Id

ID for the syslog host being created.

IpAddr
|
IP address of the syslog host.

UdpPort
|
The UDP port to use to send messages to the syslog host (514 to 530).

HostFacility
|
The syslog host facility used to identify messages (LOCAL0 to LOCAL7)

Severity
|
The Passport message severity for which syslog messages are sent.

MapInfoSeverity
MapWarningSeverity
MapErrorSeverity
MapFatalSeverity

Maps Passport severity levels to syslog severity.

Enable
|
Enables or disables sending messages to the syslog host.

To configure a syslog host on the Passport switch:
- In the Id field, type the syslog host ID (1 to 10).
- In the IpAddr field, type the IP address of the syslog host.
- In the UdpPort field, type the UDP port on which to send syslog messages to the syslog host (UDP ports 514 to 530; 514 is the default).
- From the HostFacility options, select the syslog UNIX system facility that receives and dispatches syslog messages (LOCAL0 to LOCAL7; LOCAL7 is the default).
- In the Severity field, select the internal switch severity levels for which to send syslog messages.
- In the MapInfoSeverity, MapWarningSeverity, MapErrorSeverity, and MapFatalSeverity fields, select the internal severity levels to a syslog message severity level.
- Click Insert.
