Controlling access
To control access to group membership:
- From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.

- Click the Snoop tab.
- In the Snoop tab, select a VLAN.
- Click Multicast.

- Click the Access tab.
- In the Access tab, click Insert.

The table below describes the Snoop, VLAN, Insert Access dialog box items.
VlanId
|
The VLAN ID for the VLAN.
|
GrpAddr
|
Multicast group address of the multicast stream.
|
HostAddr
|
IP address of the host whose membership is controlled.
|
HostMask
|
Subnet mask of the host whose membership is controlled.
|
Mode
|
You can select the following for the host address:
- denyTx--deny transmit mode
- denyRx--deny receive mode
- denyBoth--deny transmit and receive mode

- Type the information.
- Click Insert.

Note:
This window allows you to enter a group address and a target host. You can control the ability to receive from or transmit to a specific multicast group address. However, when applying filters to limit reception of a multicast stream on a segment, you must apply the filter to all eligible receivers on the segment. If not, the host to whom you denied access receives the multicast stream as soon as another host on the segment joins the multicast group.
