The Multicast ARP table is a new feature in Device Manager. In layer 3, the switch must be able to route an IP frame to a unicast IP address and flood it with a destination multicast MAC address. You must manually define a static ARP entry that associates an IP address with a multicast MAC address and flooding ports and MLT.
To configure the MAC address for layer 3 multicast flooding:
| The IP dialog box opens with the Globals tab displayed. |
| The Multicast ARP tab opens. |
The table below describes the Multicast ARP tab items.
VlanId
VLAN ID of the multicast ARP entry.
MacAddress
MAC address of the multicast ARP entry.
IpAddress
IP address of the multicast ARP entry (needs to be on the same subnet as on the VLAN ID).
Ports
The forwarding ports selected to receive the multicast flooding.
MltIds
The IDs of the MLT members of the multicast ARP entry.
