Service tab

The Service tab displays the SAP services available on the network. Basically the same information is displayed in the DestService tab and the StaticService tab, with different sort conditions.

To open the Service tab:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IPX Routing > IPX.
  2. The IPX dialog box opens with the Global tab displayed.
  3. Click the Service tab.
  4. The Service tab Opens.

The table below describes the Service tab items.


Item Description
Type
The type of service provided (in hex).
Name
The name of the service (48 byte field).
Protocol
The protocol through which this service was learned (RIP or static). This field is a display field only.
NetNum
The IPX network number where this service is available.
Node
The 6-byte node address. The Node and NetNum items correspond to the IPXhost parameter in the CLI.
Note: The NetNum and Node make up the IPX host address where the service is available.
Socket
The socket address of the service (in hex).
HopCount
The number of intermediate networks that must be passed through to reach the server.
