Viewing and editing SAP information

Use the SAP dialog box to view and edit the service advertisement protocol (SAP) parameters.

To open the SAP dialog box:

From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IPX Routing > SAP.

The SAP dialog box opens.

The table below describes the SAP dialog box items.


Item Description
Index
The index number of the server.
State
The current state of SAP on the interface: on, off, auto-on, auto-off. The default is on (when global SAP is enabled and configured on the VLAN).
Delay
The frame rate. The default is 20 frames per second; delay time range is 1 to 1000 ms.
Update
The time period (in seconds) after which periodic updates of the current list of active network numbers is sent. Default is 60 seconds with a range of 1 to 2147483647.
AgeMultiplier
The hold multiplier timing parameter. Default is 3 with a range of 1 to 2147483647.
GetNearestServerReply
Select Yes or No to enable or disable server replies.
