Globals tab

The Globals tab allows you to make global changes for IP Routing.

To open the Globals tab in the IP dialog box:

From the Device Manager window menu bar, choose IP Routing > IP.

The IP dialog box opens with the Globals tab displayed.

The table below describes the items in the Globals tab.


Item Description
Forwarding
Sets the switch for IP forwarding (routing) or nonforwarding. The default is forwarding.
DefaultTTL
The default value inserted in the Time-To-Live (TTL) field of the IP header of datagrams originated by the switch whenever a TTL value is not supplied by the transport layer protocol. Default is 255 seconds.
ReasmTimeout
The maximum number of seconds that received fragments are held while they are awaiting reassembly of this entity. You cannot change this value.
ARPLifeTime
The lifetime of an ARP entry within the system, global to the switch. Default is 360 minutes.
ICMPNETUnreachableEnable
Used to enable or disable the icmp net unreach feature.
