Configuring forwarding policies

To configure forwarding policies:

  1. From the Device Manager window menu bar, choose IP Routing > DHCP.
  2. The DHCP dialog box opens.
  3. Click Insert.
  4. The DHCP, Insert Globals dialog box opens.

Item Description
AgentAddr
IP address of the input interface (agent) on which the relaying of received BootP/DHCP packets must be enabled.
ServerAddr
This parameter is either the IP address of the BootP/DHCP server or the address of another local interface of the switch.
  • If it is the address of the BootP/DHCP server, then the request is unicast to the server's address.
  • If the address is one of the IP addresses of an interface on the switch, then the BootP/DHCP requests are broadcast out of that local interface.
Enable
Enables BootP/DHCP relay on the routing switch.
Mode
Specifies the type of messages relayed: none, only BootP, only DHCP, or both types of packets.

  1. In the AgentAddr box, type in the agent address.
  2. In the ServerAddr box, type in the server address.
  3. Click Enable to turn on BootP/DHCP relay, or click Enable to clear the option.
  4. The default is enabled.
  5. In the Mode field, select the type of messages to be relayed.
