TFTP tab

From the TFTP tab, you can upload and save your configuration to a TFTP server. Refer to the table for field descriptions.


Items Description
Host
The TFTP server's IP address or DNS name.
File
The file to upload or download to the TFTP server.
Action
The TFTP operation can be one of the following operations:

1. downloadConfig: download the configuration file from the tftp server to the device.

2. uploadConfig: upload the configuration file from the device to the tftp server.

3. downloadSwToFlash: download the software file from the tftp server to flash memory.

4. downloadSwToPcmcia (1200/1250 only): download the software file from the tftp server to PCMCIA.


Note that when setting up the TFTP server on Solaris workstations, you must uncomment the TFTP daemon line in /etc/inet.conf and not use the -s option.
Result
The result of the last operation.

To upload your configuration to a TFTP server:

  1. Save the configuration to NVRAM.
  2. Select uploadConfig from the TFTP window and enter the IP address or name and the file name.
  3. Click on the Apply button to start the transfer.
  4. Click on the Refresh button to check the status of the transfer.

To download and save a configuration file:

  1. From the TFTP window, select downloadConfig and enter the file name.
  2. Click on the Apply button to start the transfer.
  3. Click on the Refresh button to check the status of the transfer.
  4. Save the configuration to NVRAM. Right-click on the graphical representation of the chassis, and select Save.
  5. You can save the configuration to either the active or the standby SSF module. The new configuration will not be used until the device is reset.

To download run-time software from the TFTP server:

  1. From the TFTP window, select downloadSwToFlash to download the software to the flash device or downloadSwToPcmcia to download the software to the PCMCIA card.
  2. Click on the Apply button to start the transfer.
  3. Click on the Refresh button to check the status of the transfer.
