Syslog Table tab

To change syslog host mappings at any time:

From the Device Manager menu bar, choose Edit > Diagnostics > Syslog Table and use the submenu in the MapWarningSeverity text box.

To configure a syslog host:

From the Device Manager menu bar, choose Edit > Diagnostics > Syslog Table > Insert.

The Diagnostics, Insert Syslog table dialog box opens.


Item Description
Id
ID for the syslog host being created.
HostIpAddr
IP address of the syslog host.
HostUdpPort
The UDP port to use to send messages to the syslog host (514 to 530).
Facility
The syslog host facility used to identify messages (LOCAL0 to LOCAL7)
Severity
The Passport message severity for which syslog messages will be sent.
Map ... Severity (four fields)
Maps Passport severity levels to syslog severity.

Enable
Enables or disables sending messages to the syslog host.

To configure a syslog host on the Passport switch:

  1. Type the syslog host ID (1 to 10).
  2. Type the IP address of the syslog host.
  3. Type the UDP port on which to send syslog messages to the syslog host (UDP ports 514 to 530; 514 is the default).
  4. Select the syslog UNIX system facility that receives and dispatches syslog messages (LOCAL0 to LOCAL7; LOCAL7 is the default).
  5. Select the internal switch severity levels for which to send syslog messages.
  6. Select the internal severity levels to a syslog message severity level, and click Insert.
