Passport switches support port mirroring for troubleshooting and network traffic analysis. Using port mirroring, you specify one destination port on which you want to see mirrored traffic and specify the source ports from which traffic is mirrored. Any packets entering or leaving the specified ports are forwarded normally and a copy of the packets is sent out the mirror port. An Passport 1000 Series routing switches can support mirroring on two ports. When this feature is active, all packets received on the port(s) specified by the MirroredPortOne and/or MirroredPortTwo are copied to MirrorPort. The mirroring operation is nonintrusive.
You can also use the port mirroring feature to monitor traffic from MAC addresses where traffic with a given source MAC address is copied to the mirror port. This feature is enabled by setting the monitor field to true for a MAC address in the Forwarding window. Refer to Forwarding tab for more information.
To access the Port Mirror tab:

From the Device Manager menu bar, choose Edit > Diagnostics > Port Mirror. |
The Port Mirror tab opens.
Enable
If checked, indicates that the port mirroring is active.
MirroredPort
The port from which mirrored traffic is sent.
EnableMirroredPortOne
If checked, indicates that the port specified in MirroredPortOne is being mirrored.
MirroringPortOne
The port to be mirrored, that is, a copy of traffic received and forwared on this port, is sent to the MirroredPort.
EnableMirroredPortTwo
If checked, indicates that the port specified in MirroredPortTwo is being mirrored.
MirroringPortTwo
The port to be mirrored, that is, a copy of traffic received and forwared on this port, is sent to the MirroredPort.
SaveConfig
Controls whether or not the port mirror configuration should be saved to NVRAM so mirror settings will automatically be active after a system reboot. Checking the SaveConfig box does not immediately save the configuration information. The save happens when the switch configuration is saved.
