Configuring IPX

Use the IPX Global tab to globally enable or disable IPX routing. From the VLAN VLANs Basic dialog box, you can access other tabs to create and manage virtual router interfaces.

To configure IPX:

1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IPX Routing > IPX.



The IPX dialog box opens with the Global tab displayed.

2. Select Enable.

The default is set to disable.

3. Click Apply.
   
   

   Item	Description
   RoutingEnable	Enables IPX routing on the interface.

   
   

To define the VLAN:

1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs > IPX.

The IPX, VLAN dialog box opens.



2. Click Insert.

The Insert IPX dialog box opens.

3. In the NetAddr field, type the IPX circuit network number.
4. In the Encap check box, select one of the following:
­ If the IPX circuit is port-based, select none.
­ If the IPX circuit is protocol-based, select either ethernetII, snap, llc, or raw.
5. Click Insert.

The IPX, VLAN dialog box opens with the message "Inserted" displayed.
