Editing Objects

You can edit objects and values in Device Manager in several ways including the following:

• Select an object on the graphical representation of the device; then click the pencil icon on the tool bar.

• From a chassis, card, or port shortcut menu, click Edit.

When you change values in a field, you can see fields that have been changed but not applied. Changed fields have the following characteristics:

• In a Windows environment, an underline appears beneath the value.

• In a UNIX environment, the value is displayed in bold.

To make configuration changes permanent in your device, do one of the following: Select the Apply button from the bottom of the window. Changes are not applied until you click the Apply button. Changes are not saved until the run-time configuration is saved. To save your run-time configuration, click the diskette icon on the toolbar.
