Configure ARP for the interface

Use the ARP tab to set the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) behavior of the routing interface. By default, ARP Response is enabled and Proxy ARP is disabled.

Select one of the following procedures to configure ARP:

To enable or disable ARP on an isolated router interface:

  1. Select a port and choose Edit > Port / ARP from the main menu.
  2. The Edit Port dialog box opens and the ARP tab is displayed.
  3. In the DoResp field, select Disable or Enable.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. In the DoProxy field, select Disable or Enable.
  6. Click Apply.

To enable or disable ARP on a virtual router interface:

  1. Choose VLAN > VLANs.
  2. The VLAN dialog box opens.
  3. Select the VLAN, and click Insert.
  4. The VLAN IP dialog box opens.
  5. In the Arp tab, click the DoResp field to enable or disable the option.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click the DoProxy field, to enable or disable the option.
  8. Click Apply.


Field Description
DoProxy
Enable or disable ARP proxy responses on the specified interface. The default is set to disable.
DoResp
Enable or disable the sending of ARP responses on the specified interface. The default is set to enable.
