Shortcut Menus for Objects

Most objects in the device view (chassis, port, and module or card) have shortcut menus that you can open by right-clicking on the selected object or group of objects. Figure 4, Figure 5, and Figure 6, respectively, show the shortcut menus. The shortcut menus provide a faster path for editing objects and applying changes; however, you can access the same options through the menu bar or the toolbar.

The table below describes the chassis shortcut menu options.


Option Description
Edit
Edit chassis parameters.
Graph
Graph chassis statistics.
Save Runtime Config
Save the current run-time configuration file.
Save Boot Config
Save the current boot configuration file.
Reset Counters
Reset all the statistics counters for the switch.
Reset
Reset the switch.

The figure below shows the shortcut menus for an I/O port and a serial port.

The I/O port shortcut menu commands are described below.


Options Descriptions
Edit
Display edit port menu.
Graph
Graph port statistics.
Enable
Administratively bring a port up.
Disable
Administratively shut down a port.
Enable FastStart
Enable FastStart spanning tree operation on this port or ports.
Disable FastStart
Disable FastStart spanning tree operation on this port or ports.
Enable RMON Stats
Enable RMON statistics logging on this port or ports.
Enable RMON History
Enable RMON history logging on this port or ports.

The card shortcut menu (Figure 6) provides a quick way to view the module (card) parameters. When the selected module is an I/O module, the single option on the Card shortcut menu (Edit) allows you to open the Edit Card window. When the selected module is a switch fabric module, the Card shortcut menu also includes a selection (Disable) that resets the module.
