Selecting Device Manager Objects

A device object is defined as a chassis, slot, card, port, fan, or power supply.

To select the whole device:

1. Do not click any object.
   
   The whole device is selected when you first open Device Manager. Use the Device Manager menu bar commands to perform management commands that apply to the whole device.

To select a single object:

1. Right-click the object.
   
   The edge of the object is outlined in yellow.

To select multiple objects:

1. Right-click any object
   

2. [ctrl]+left-click any other object.

To select single or multiple objects:

1. From the menu bar, choose Edit > Select.

2. From the pull-down menu, choose an object.

When an object is selected it is outlined in yellow indicating that it is selected. You can then choose a command from the Menu Bar to perform on the object.
