Optivity NMS OIT Package README for New Device/Agent:
Accelar 1000 Series Switch Router, agent software v2.0.7.

OIT PACKAGE SUMMARY:
====================

This document contains installation instructions, new feature 
information, and known restriction information for Optivity Integration 
Toolkit (OIT) files when used with the Accelar 1000 Series Switch 
and version 2.0.7 software. These OIT installation instructions are not 
included in the Optivity NMS or the Accelar 1000 Switch documentation.




DEVICES SUPPORTED:
====================
The following Accelar 1000 Series switches, running agent software Version 
2.0.1 on Accelar devices with sysObjectID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.2, 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.7
and 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.8:

Accelar 1100 
Accelar 1150
Accelar 1200

NOTES FOR INSTALLATION:
=======================

All installation commands are relative to the directory containing
the extracted (un-tarred or un-zipped) OIT package. The default   
locations for the OIT files are:

UNIX ($OITHOME):                      /usr/oit
Windows 95/98/NT (%OITHOME%):        <drive>:\Optivity\OIT


Installing on UNIX 
------------------
1. On your workstation, login as root (su command).

2. Open a UNIX shell window, and type the following commands to 
   prepare your user environment:
      source /opt/lnms/bin/opt_cshrc (for csh and tcsh)
      . /opt/lnms/bin/opt_kshrc (for sh or ksh)

3. Type the following command to copy the OIT package to the
   correct location:
      cp NMS_pp1000_v207_B01.tar ${OITHOME}/passport

4. Type the following command to expand the OIT package: 
      tar -xvf ${OITHOME}/passport/NMS_pp1000_v207_B01.tar

5. Type the following command to install the OIT package:
      source ${OITHOME}/passport/install


Installing on Windows
---------------------
1. Login to the NT server as Administrator.
 
2. Open a command prompt.

3. Copy NMS_pp1000_v207_B01.exe to a temporary directory.

4. Run NMS_pp1000_v207_B01.exe, the self-extracting OIT setup program.

5. Type the following commands to install each OIT file.
        cd %OITHOME%\passport\lan\rel2x\rel207_1100
        oitInstall -u NMS_pp1100_v207_B01.oit
        cd %OITHOME%\passport\lan\rel2x\rel207_1150
        oitInstall -u NMS_pp1150_v207_B01.oit
        cd %OITHOME%\passport\lan\rel2x\rel207_1200
        oitInstall -u NMS_pp1200_v207_B01.oit


Installation Results
--------------------

When you upgrade Optivity NMS with new device support, the files 
oitinstalled.cnf and oitapplied.cnf are updated with an entry for 
the new device. To verify the successful installation of the OIT file, 
open the oitinstalled.cnf and the oitapplied.cnf files, and search for 
the following entries:

UNIX 
      NMS_pp1100_v207_B01.oit $OITHOME/passport/lan/rel2x/rel207_1100
      NMS_pp1150_v207_B01.oit $OITHOME/passport/lan/rel2x/rel207_1150
      NMS_pp1200_v207_B01.oit $OITHOME/passport/lan/rel2x/rel207_1200

Windows 
      NMS_pp1100_v207_B01.oit %OITHOME%\passport\lan\rel2x\rel207_1100
      NMS_pp1150_v207_B01.oit %OITHOME%\passport\lan\rel2x\rel207_1150
      NMS_pp1200_v207_B01.oit %OITHOME%\passport\lan\rel2x\rel207_1200




NEW FEATURES IN THIS RELEASE:

-- Autotopology  
   With this OIT package, links between Accelar 1000 and other 
   Nortel Networks devices can be automatically detected and depicted
   in the InfoCenter Datalink Layer View and InfoCenter Physical Layer
   View options using the Format > Graphical menu option.

-- OmniView
   All features are supported.

-- Fault Manager
   All Traps are supported.

   tool, you must re-install any previously installed OIT packages.
