The mp3 files on this disc are compressed versions of the original (1997 or 1998??) Internet Boot Camp given by Phil Becker. The original Powerpoint slides used for this presentation are in the "Docs&Utils" folder. Also included are files for the DOS version of NetCalc and a Powerpoint presentation for a leased line lecture. They are 128bps files on which I have attempted to perform dynamic compression so that the quiet sounds are louder and the loud sounds are quieter. I tried to make the questions from the audience loud enough to be heard. This attempt was only partially successful and resulted in making some background noises and tape hiss louder. I was able to filter out the increased tape hiss, but I was unable to filter out the increased ventilation fan noise. If you find the results objectionable I still have the original wave files so I can make mp3 files without performing dynamic compression on them.
